i think my trim moter is bad, i have a 1993 starcraft bassboat with a 75 hp motor , how hard is it to change

What brand is it? What does it do when you try to use it? Is it getting power and ground?

i just bought the boat , when i tried to move the trim it did not work ,later it worked enough to take the bar off , now i get no response but i do hear a click.;by the way its a merc 75

It's a bad relay, find the 2 black boxes under the cowl that are making the clicking noise. That's your problem, if it is a older model It might be wise to replace both but you can get away with just one. Plug a new one in and if it still doesn't work switch it with the other.
