4.5hp Mercury wont start
I was given a 4.5hp mercury serial 7155092
the starting mecinisem is in the crowel so when I take it off there is no way to turn the enguine fast enough to see if it has any spark
I was thinking of removing the spark plug then using a drill on the fly wheel nut to see if there is a spark or is there better way of doing it
the flyweel only has lugs sticking up from it not like the old johnson where you could tie a knot in the end of a rope then rap it around the flywheel to start it

Could you wrap a rope arround the flywheel a couple times? I would think with no spark plug in it would still turn over. I don't think a drill would turn it over fast enough.
