de-winterizing after 4 years
I am trying to get my new sailboat (21' flamingo 1963) back into the water after it has been sitting outside and untouched for 4 years. It has a 90's model honda outboard motor BF9.9A / 15A... Would anyone have some tips and correct procedures on de-winterizing the engine. The tag on the motor says that it was winterized in 2006. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board.
It should be a good weekend project.
First you should change the waterpump impeller after sitting for that time the impeller will have formed to the pump itself and have weak pressure.
The carb will need to be removed and cleaned, if there was any fuel in the bowl it will have turned to varnish. Also change the fuel filter.
After that I would change the spark plugs and you should be set to go.
Run it on a hose first if you can, but then again you have wind power to get back to port.
