Engine Flooding

I own a 1992 Mercruiser alpha 1. When I run the boat on the water for a few minutes and then stop and shut down the engine, sometime fuel continues to pour into the carb for 10 to 20 seconds flooding the engine making it difficult to restart. Any ideas?

welcome to the site.

I would bet the needle and seat are not sealing. You will have to replace them.
