1967mercury 950ss outboard issues
Hello I have recently, traded for a glastron swinger 17'6" tri hull. it came with a 1967 mercury 950 outboard on it, the guy I got it from replaced the water pump impeller, and now there is no forward or reverse, i'm assuming he did not realign the shaft when he reinstalled it , I am not a mechanic, but have some mechanical skills, how do I fix it to get the lower unit to shift ino gear ? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Patrick.

Welcome to the forum.
Most likely the shift shaft didn't get lined up on top of the gearcase. Just remove the case down about 3", you will see the shift shaft in the front of the case.
