Got my new water pump kit, have questions

The kit contains more gaskets than I removed.. no problem, probably somewhat universal. Do I bother removing the lower part of the pump? If so, how does it come out? I tapped on it and tried to wiggle it, it's in there pretty firmly. I also have two very large O rings that maybe go somewhere?? Since the lower unit pressure tested good, does that mean that I shouldn't bother removing the lower pump, of is it even related?

You are right the kits have extra parts. You don't need to replace the lower housing, just the metal base plate and the 2 gaskets.

The o'rings are for the pump base under the metal plate.
