Plug wires, solid copper, spiral, buy a set, make your own?

I found #2 plig wire broken about an 1" from the plug cap.

I have some automotive wire laying around but its spiral, which is better or does is matter? What about solid lawn mower spark plug wire, is that OK? Should I buy a kit and make them all new? Should I buy a pre-made kit? I have made them before for hotrods but I don't have the proper crimper for something like this. I know some come with a tool that goes in the vice and you beat on it.

What do ou think?

Copper, not carbon resistance. Basically the same thing you used on the 'rods.

If I had a roll of solid 7mm used on lawn tractors, I guess that is the same thing?? My hotrod has a 1977 small block Chevy and uses spiral wound, I have some real nice 8 mm red and 8 mm yellow, but that doesn't help.

3 of 4 coils look like the wire is permanent on the secondary side but I think the brass connector is just way up inside. The #2 wire looks like it has been fixed and the brass connecter was all boogered up, I had to straighten it out. I don't want to damage anything, so can I assume that I need to yank the plug wire out of the coil and there is no such thing as a permanently connected wire?
