I own a 28 foot single engine Excalibur and would like to convert the trs outdrive to a Bravo outdrive. I am extremely mechanically inclined and I was wondering what the proper way to seal the trs hole would be. After it is sealed, what is the right height and where do I get the "jig" to cut the hole from ?

The bravo transom plate will come with a template
to cut and drill the proper mounting holes. You
probably wont get your hands on the "jig" unless you
have a friend who's a Merc dealer.
There are some overlapping areas between the two
cutouts but you will have to fill some areas.
The repairs need to be very strong.
It may be to your
advantage to buy the conversion plate that Merc makes.
You simply overcut the hole and bolt this in place
making it a prefab holefor your new Bavo unit.
