I realize this has nothing to do with boats but it was the only area that I could find that had to do with fiberglas. I would like to fiberglas a wood fountain so that the water would not damage the wood. I need suggestions on how to do this and what products to use. Where I would go to find these would be a help also..........any help would be appreciated. thanks

I hope i can shed some light on you project.
Coating wood with resin will give it protection from water.
Addding fiberglass cloth will give it strength.
If you have a lot of curves and crevices i would not recommend any cloth. It is difficult to get air bubbles out from beneath the bends. It will ruin your piece.
Be warned that this resining process will be permanent. Be careful when you choose the type of resin, and read all the precautions.
The vapors are nasty.
You may get some of the same protection from Linear polyurethane or varnishes. Check with the home finishes department.
