I developed an oil leak from my lower unit. My Yamaha certified mechanic told me i needed new seals. He told me that thebearing housing was stuck. He charged me 6 hours of labor[600$] to tell me he could not remove it and he replaced the lower unit. I feel i got ripped off. does it take 6 hours of labor to make the decision. thanks for your opinion

He worked on the bearing for some time, then charged labor for replacing the lower unit. It might be a little high but certainly not outrageous. It can't hurt to ask for an adjustment on the bill.
