1969 Johnson
#1
I have a 1969 Johnson outboard, 100 HP. It seems like it is only running at half power. I checked the sparkplugs on the # 1 and it fires, # 2 and it fires, # 3 and it fires with a strong blue beutiful spark, same with # 4. The only thing I notice is when I pull the plugs on the 2 and 4, the motor dosen't want to stall, is that normal? when I pull it on the 1 and 3 it does. I checked the points and they appeared to be good. ( how can I tell? ) One side seems to get hot, and the other (2 and 4) does not. Can somebody please help me?

Well you have a lot of good troubleshooting info
in you post. You will want to check the compression
next to find out if any damage has been done by the
overheating. You want to have pretty close numbers.
They should be about 100 psi. Where is this motor
used, fresh or salt water?
Lets start there, i will be standing by. scott
