94 bayliner Capri 1750. 130hp merc alpha 1 gen 2 I/O. Original rack steering system and I want to swap it with a no feedback. I found a seastar that says "Suitable for most outboards up to 100 HP that have a tilt tube and link arm."
Will my 130hp change how the no feedback works?
Does it mean "outboard" as in outboard engines and it won't mount the same? Is there a different recommended one that i can find around 250-350?
The one I'm speaking of is "seastar ss13212"
I have a 1986 16' DuraCraft with a 40 HP Johnson (not that all that matters, but) with an aftermarket CMC model # PT-130 Tilt & Trim setup.
Thursday, I went out to check on the boat & the motor was tilted all the way up. I've never did that. Actually, when I winterized it, I specifically left the motor at 180 degrees. I tried to tilt it back down & nothing. I mean, nothing. No click, no hum. Battery is down.
Only thing I can think of is something shorted out & raised the motor up until the battery finally ran down. I put the charger on the battery & and its up to 12+ volts now. Still nothing by working the toggle switch.
There is a black line coming out of the control box with a black wire & white wire. It goes to a rubber coated box of some sort that has about 20 wires to & from it.
One of these is a the tilt up & the other is a tilt down. Can I connect either of these wires directly to a 12V hot & test the motor simply by doing that?
Any other advice/help would be appreciated.
