Recently my boat was deluged in two rainstorms. The boat was on the trailer on level ground. I could see no water and the pump did not eject any water. I then moved the boat to the driveway which is on an angle. The pump came on and sent water out. I pulled the plug and water drained out for quite a long time. Is my pump installed incorrectly or should there be some connection to the bilge? Thanks

The bilge pump should be mounted low in the aft
part of the bilge to remove water underway or while at
proper floating angle. Not so much in the driveway or yard.
keep the plug out,,, always,, in the yard.
