Does anyone know the diameter and thread type of the oil drain plug on a Merc 3.0 Liter?

I have a houseboat and would like to run some copper pipe from the drain pan to a convenient location, so oil changes would be a lot easier.

It depends on the year model. earlier were sae 7/16
and later models became metric 7x1.75mm i think.
Its a General motors Pan. There are some drain kits available and i would use one with a flexible line.
