Trailer Brakes Overhaul

SCOTT-
I've got a 98 Escort tandem axle trailer (6600lbs capacity). I need to completely overhaul the brakes, to include lines, coupler, etc. The trailer originally had brakes on both axles, but may of the same size trailers I see today only have brakes on one axle - thoughts? Also, any opinion on replacing the drum brakes with rotor brakes and any opinion on the flex hose I now see manufacturers using for brake lines vice metal tubing? Thanks as always.

Ive seen the disc brakes and i like what i see.
They are real easy to install and ive seen no failures.
I'd stick with the hard lines that youcan pick up just about
anywhere. Replace the actuator if it ever had any rust in it.
