Mercury Outboard 25H leaking propeller shaft oil

I have a 97 Mercury Outboard 25H that is leaking oil around the propeller shaft. Can I repair it myself, if so how?? Thanks, Stan

You say the propshaft seals are leaking?
You got some fishing line in them didn't you?
By removing the bearing carrier you will be able to
replace the seals. Not a big job, if you have a
puller and some patience. Get a service manual
by Seloc or Haynes, and read up on the lower unit
section. You may want to replace the water pump
impeller while you are down there.
