In My Opinion

Hello: john9243

A good GPS is one that the potential user will comfortable to use and user friendly. Not necessarily a unit that has so many options which may overwhelm them and they may never use.

Best bet is to take the intended party to the store and have them make the selection. Doing so will ensure they find the one that will suite their needs and one that meets your price range.

GPS

Garmin, direct wired to 12v with 10yr lithium bat.
or portable Magellan 315. This is a good unit and has a 10yr lithium battery
