Thumbs down torque converter

i have a manco g-cart with a comet industries torque converter and i just replaced the spring in the bottom "pulley". i also have a new belt with it and put it on. i rebuilt the engine and put it all back together and the engine runs great! but now i have a problem with the torque converter. when i try to start it(pull start) the clutch grabs as i pull and turns the wheels as if it were hooked up straight to the engine. the new spring and belt are the right size and it is put together correct so i dont know why its catching now.

Wink clutch

when you try to start the first time with a new belt you have to hold the belt together in the middle so the clutch is not touching the belt. and have someone else pull the rope but what you have to watch is when someone pulls the rope make sure the kart doesnt jump to much cause the clutch will grab the belt if it touches. when the motor cranks you can let go of it.
i have 3 Karts like that and i do it all the time.
