go-kart track lights
#1

Anyone have any experience in the outdoor light department? Any recommendations for ideal lighting for driving at night? Are there any specs on this? Would lights used for baseball diamonds be too much?
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.. I'm not sure where to start at this point.

I like lights spread out instead of a few poles with multiple lights. A bunch of lights on one pole is a bit blinding if you happen to look at them and it seems to create stronger shadows.
I also like the lights on the inside of the track shining out (on an oval track) so you do not look directly at them when driving.
I've read that sodium lights (HPS) (the pinkish ones) are more energy efficient than mercury vapor. They seem funny at first because of the color, but you soon forget about it and don't even notice.
And of course, more light is always better.
