1982 Honda 900 CC into Golf Cart

My son has dropped a Honda 900 CC engine into our golf cart and we are having starting problems. The engine starts with No. 2 and 3 cylinders firing and 1 and 4 not firing. 1 and 4 are getting a spark and gas, but not firing. When running, we can take the plug wires off 1 and 4 and there is no difference in the engines performance (which is poor).

Any suggestions as to how to tackle the problem of 1 and 4 not firing? The floats appear to be working correctly.

Also, any leads as to where we can get an engine mechcanical/electrical diagram on the 1982 Honda 900 CC engine would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DWC
