Lawn Mower Problems

I need some advice. I have a Agco Allis 1718H riding lawn mower that the deck has pretty much crapped out on. I have taken the deck off and I am trying to make it faster. Two years ago i put in a new 18 horse B&S V-Twin into it. The motor is perfect but the transmission is hydrostatic. I was wondering if anything can be done with the transmission to make it faster. I was reading and I saw that maybe if I put a bigger pully off the engine the pump will spin faster making the motor turn at a faster rate. I need HELP!! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Johndeereboy;
There are some guys in the next group down "Outdoor Power equipment" that talk about racing mowers, you might want to post a question there. Have a good one. Geo

You cannot over drive a hydro for more speed. Your best bet would be to swap the driveline out for a tranny & live axle setup.
