1985 Honda 300

My 1985 Honda 300 cut out one day and won't start again. There is no spark now. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Changed the coil and made no difference

So the problem is upstream of the coil
or the upstream fault fried the new coil
or the new coil was also bad (not likely).

Check new and old coil primary and secondary resistance and check for a short from coil windings to the coil case.

Usually the coil primary cannot stand continuous battery voltage applied to it, so I'd check that before installing any other coils.
If there is continuous 12v to the coil primary I'd say the coil driver output transistor was shorted.

Shorted out the cdi ignitor, fitted a new one, no difference. There doesn't seem to be a lot of power coming from the switch inside the mag, could the switch be the problem? Not sure what you ment by the coil driver output transistor?
