hydro lock?

have an arctic cat 1000 3 cyl snomo. been sitting about 8 months since top end freshened up. just got everyhtign together, dumped just a bit of fuel down spark plug holes for lube. motor is extremely hard to turn over. Pulled plugs and it turns over just fine. tried pulling it coupel dozen times without plugs, put tehm back in and it it still hard to turn over. This sound like the case is flooded with fuel? with plugs out and severla pulls of cord, no fuel came out. whats the best way to get the fuel out if ? thanks

If you can pull it over a few times with the plugs out, then put them in and it will still turn over, but is hard, I would think in terms of just compression not hydro lock. How much fuel did you put in the cylinders to lube them?

What all did you do to it in the top end and does it have a compression release?

i pulled plugs out and pulled the cord a dozen or so times. turns over just fine and fast. nothing that seems to be causing interference with the stroke. put plugs back in and i cant even pull the rope fast. if i pull hard and slow it will turn over, but definately harder than it orignally was. cnat do a compression check now but the squish clearance is about .055 which is about right for the motor.

had one side of the cases decked since it was slightly warped, put in new cylinder studs, but other than that, nothing was done except new base gaskets and head o-rings.

with just one plug in and other 2 out, it is still hard to turn over. now it doesnt seem like hydro lock but not sure what it might be? Have the reed cages in up side down but i dont think that makes a difference
