motorcycle oil

I bought a motorcycle last fall now I'd like to change the oil. My buddy says that I should use the brand oil It's made for motorcyles . So whats the diffrence between reg oil and motorcycle oil???. Also is synthetic better better then reg oil??

No difference; any reputable brand with the proper weight designation is fine. Lots of argument of synthetic vs dino oil. For a motorcycle - relatively small capacity and a bit harder on oil - I would you use synthetic.

motorcycle oil has more zinc in it. Since some bikes are air cooled it offers better metal to metal wear when the oil breaks down. Breaks down faster from the heat.

I run only synthetic. My bike sees temps around 270f or so..
