Storing a trike
I have a trike and have been told to store it not on concrete or gravel but on wood is that the best

It would help if you said more than just "trike". A child's tricycle... and adult three wheeled bicycle... a three wheeled motorcycle... a electric mobility scooter???
It would also help to know if you are concerned about the "trike" or the surface it's sitting on. Rubber tires can leave marks on some types of flooring like epoxy or vinyl so people will often park vehicles on pieces of wood or carpet scraps to protect the floor.
I have heard the recommendation to not store a battery on concrete. The tale being that it was better to store it on wood to help prevent it from draining/discharging.

The weather is mild here and any motorcycle stored in a garage is good to go.
For outside, it would make sense to use a wood base, it would provide some kind of vapor barrier and warmth. (warmth may vary from California to Buffalo or Ohio)
