Melex golf cart

Can anyone tell me anything about the old melex electric golf carts. I have a lead on one. It's a metal body, the guy said he took it on trade for some work. Doesn't know anything about them and said it won't do anything. Doesn't know if it's the charger or battery or what. He only wants 75 bucks for it. It's a little ways from me but in my area I should easily be able to sell it for that if new batteries don't fix it.

Electric golf carts are 99% all the same. One big difference is the controller.

To troubleshoot you need a meter. You need to check each battery individually. Then you check for the total voltage at the solenoid. Check and make sure the solenoid closes and then follow the voltage to the controller. You may find wiring diagrams at the site below.

If it was me I'd pass on it, to hard to find parts for it.
Melex History - Vintage Golf Cart Parts Inc.
If your really lucky and it's just the battery's your out at least $600.00 a new set.
Battery's and chargers can be tested with a simple volt/ohm meter.
