Metro vs Vino

My wife wants one of the little retro scooters from Honda, the metro. 2021 in beige. I found some old stock Yamaha Vino scooters a little drive away. They have a red vino.

So:
2021 beige Honda = $2500
2015 red Yamaha = $2300
Both are brand new, zero miles.

Get her exactly what she wants, not what you want, you won't be sorry that way. Besides that Yamaha is already 6 years old, miles or not.

For only $200 difference in price for 6 model years I'd go for the new Honda without question. The Vino disappeared from Yamaha's lineup in 2017/18 so aftermarket support will be slimmer. And your wife want's the beige Honda... doesn't even seem like a choice.

You guys couldnt be more right. I went and bought the beige metro. Happy wife = happy life.
Now, can someone explain how a $2500 scooter cost nearly 4k out the door? Sheesh, probably doesn't seem so steep when buying a 40k automobile, but sure stings when it nearly doubles the purchase!

Did you pay for undercoating and the paint protection wax?

I like a wide ramp so I can go up the ramp slowly with my feet on the ramp for stability.

Id go with the Honda just because its new, will have a warranty and is only $200 more. Im not sure that Id want a 6 year old scooter that is left over and has been sitting for that long.

Santa came early for my wife. Picked up the metro on Friday. She was able to take a little scoot around the block on sunday. Giant frozen grin when she got back. I think she likes it.

I chuckle when I visit other countries where scooters are common. For some reason I don't find it odd to see a man in a suit and tie on a scooter but it just strikes me odd to see a woman in a full length evening gown... and a helmet.
