Briggs&straton V16 Twin

I would like to know where I can find the engine bolt torque specs on the b&s V16 twin without having to buy a manual. Thanks John

Not wanting to buy a manual is like trying to take a college course without the textbook. Inherently it is more difficult that way .

I suggest the local library. Most have the 1998 publication of the Briggs and Stratton manual which is a great basic book and should have what you want in it.

John,
I don't have the manual on your particular engine but on similar Briggs is listing as follows;
Aluminum
Head Bolts 165 in. lbs.
Conn Rod 185 in lbs.
Flywheel 65 ft lbs

Cast Iron
Head Bolts 190 in lbs
Conn Rod 190 in lbs
Flywheel 145 ft lbs (looks awfully high to me)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. That's all I needed to know because all I am doing is replacing the head gaskets.
