Tecumsh 5 hp engine starting problem

I have a 5 hp tec. on a edger frame. It hasnt run for about a year so i took off the points and replace them, along with the condenser and coil, and set to .20 I have great spark, and the carb seems to be suppling fuel. I finally got it running, but as soon as i took down the throttle, it died, and couldnt ever get it started again. Any ideas on what to check next?

Do you still have spark? If so, you most likely have a fuel problem. Especially on a techumseh, lol. You'll probably have to clean the carb, but it may just be a stuck float, bad seat, etc...
