Lawn Tractor won't shut off

I have an old Sears (8HP) lawn tractor - with electric start. When I turn the key to turn it off, the tractor keeps running. I replaced the ignition (where the key goes into), but the problem still exists. The only way I can shut it off is to "flood it" using the throttle control. Any ideas on what else could be the problem?

Your problem 'could be', the wire going to your kill switch is either broken off or your kill switch isn't making up properly. Also, what is your lawnmower model # and what is your engine type and model #.

Hello tk1469!

Pull the connector off of the back of the keyswitch. Are the terminals on the back of the switch rusty? If so, replace the switch.
