Zero Turn Lawn Mowers

I'm interested in purchasing a zero turn lawn mower to mow a 1 acre lot. Any recommendations on brand/type?? Why??

Hello Andy!

My main workload doesn't consist of a whole lot of ZTR mowers, but from what I have seen, Dixon and Exmark seem to be pretty good. I am sure there are several other good makes, but as I said...I don't see a whole lot of 'em. Most of what I see is whatever the local dealers in the area sell.

Anyone else have any reccomendations?

Hello AndyEtnyre, like cheese I can only comment on what I see in my area. Snapper, Walker, Exmark and White are the ones in use by our yard crews and city workers. If looking at a White don't pay to much because their lower line mowers are over priced and nothing but MTD in fancy clothes. That may well be the case with their better machines....Mike

It all depends on how much $$$ you feel comfortable putting
into one. Most commercial grade ZTR's begin in the $4500
range and up. Toro offers their "TimeCutter" series, which
is directed to homeowners and part-time commercial users.
You'll spend $3500 to $4500 for one of those I believe. If
you spend upwards of $5500-6000, you can buy a 44" Toro,
Exmark, or other commercial grade mowers that would LAST
FOREVER mowing 1 acre. You'd finish cutting your grass in
about 30-40 minutes, also. BE CAREFUL....then, there's more
time to devote to the "HONEY DO" list !! Exmark, Scag, Toro,
Dixie Chopper, Bobcat, Husqvarna/Yazoo Kees, Hustler....ALL,
fine products. Check 'em out !!
