can't pull the starter pulley

I own the MTD/ Tecumseh HSK600 snow blower. It was working this weekend, but when I ran into big chunk of snow, it just stopped. Normally, I can re-start with a tug of the pulley, but it did not work this time. It seems to be stuck. Is there a blown engine? How much will it cost to replace the engine - is it worth it? Thanks

Hello Austen!

Can you turn the engine from the shaft end with the belt/chain removed? If not, it's probably locked. A new HSK600 is cheap...$100.00 will get you one.

If this is a direct drive snowblower there may be a rock or stick under the empeler causeing it to be locked up.
