carburetor vapor lock

What is carburetor vapor lock? How would you know if you have it. How do you cure it. I don't have an engine that has it but I always was curious about it. Thanks.

One form of vapor lock can occur whenever the fuel tank vent gets stopped up...a partial vaccum is formed. This occurs whenever the atmospheric pressure inside the tank disappeares.

Is it just not that common for it to happen to carburetors?

Not very common, but it can happen. If the bowl vent clogs.
