gas mower replacement wire

OK so I just bought a snapper gas weed eater. It uses a fixed wire to gut with. These plastic wires wear out pretty quickly. What about using some sort of wire. Piano wire or something similiar? Thoughts?

Hello Guttingit!

Do not use a substitute wire. Pieces of metal wire breaking off can embed themselves in you! Change the head to a feed head with a bump knob that has a spool of line inside it.
