cam gear

6.5 craftsman 143.996518
a compression tester I used was too long and caused the cam gear(why plastic) to break. The valves glide up and down smoothly so I assume they are OK?

How I do relate the cam gear and crankshaft gear?
How do I replace a crankshaft oil seal?
Before sliding the cylinder down onto the dowel pins...how should the position of governor lever look? I'll also need the torc specs for the flywheel nut and cylinders head bolts.

What is the purpose of the tiny screw on the top on the cylinder head...it appears to lead to a hole in which the top on the camshaft sits???

Many thanks,
Schmitty
