Mower Recommendation

New Push Mower Recommendation
First, I must say thanks to everyone that helped me sort out the problem(s) with my LawnBoy/Toro mower.
Now, I my best friend is getting married and will be moving into a new home. I want to purchase a new mower as a wedding present. I have been looking at the Honda II (xenoy) and a Toro Super Recycler. Does anybody recommend one over the other or is there another model that I should look at?
The features that I want are self-propelled with a BBC that can mulch and bag. My friend likes to keep his fescue slightly taller than most people therefore that leans me towards the Toro as it has a higher cut height than the Honda.
Thanks in advance for any input. Tommy.

I'd say the Toro. I always find they make a pretty good product. I have also had great luck over the years with any Sears yard equipment I have bought. Reasonably priced, parts are available (most times because they are from major vendors that stay in business for a long time), and a good value overall.
Might want to look at Consumer Reports to see what they recommend. Most libraries have the Buyer's Guide.

Hi Tommy!
I don't see many Toro products in my area, especially walk-behinds, but their recent riders have really dissapointed me. The best walk behind mowers in my opinion are the John Deere mowers with the Kawasaki engines. They run long and strong with little trouble. Honda engines are very good as well, but the rest of the mower is not always top-notch. I believe Bolens is making walk-behinds with Kawasaki engines now too. If you have a Lowe's nearby, you can probably look at one there.
Hope that helps!
Congrats to your friend!
