18 HP Lawn Machine from Lowes--purchased last summer

My mower deck is vibrating badly--I checked the blades to see if they are bent--appear O.K. I have three acres to mow--most repair shops have a four week waiting period--as I am pretty handy--I wondered if you had any ideas what might be the problem??

Hello mamawolfv, sometimes a bent blade can be hard to detect while on the mower. Don't rule it out until you have them off or least check their tracking. With the deck all the way down and bleads engaged back off a bit and watch the idler to see if it is riding smoothly on the belt or bouncing. Check the blade/pulley system by rocking the blade back and forth to check for failed bearings.....Mike

Hello mamawolfv!

I agree with Mike. Also, look for a thin spot or chunk missing from the blade belt. This would let the belt jump in and out of the pulleys and cause lots of shaking.
