Replacing new choke/difficulty

have an older Noma Dynamark tractor. Could not pull choke out so ordered a new one. Problem is getting it unclipped. from where its pulled up. It snaps in how do you get it out . the sides are hard to push in???? Also do i need to remove battery cables first before working on it????

Check to be sure there is not a clip that goes between the tabs, keeping them from pushing in. If not, use pliers to squeeze the tabs together and pull it out.
