Lawn Boy Question

I have a Model 8157 Lawn Boy Supreme that seems to run good for a while then bogs down and then after a while hits full stride. The cycle repeats.

I have a new spark plug and my neighbor cleaned to carb. Most of the folks I've talked with suspect the C.I. ignition module is overheating.

What do you folks think?

Hello Jak!

I don't believe it is an ignition problem....I think that it is running too lean. Unscrewing the air-fuel mixture screw about 1/8 of a turn will probably cure it. Another possibility would be that the governor vane is sticking.

Lawn Boy

Thanks Cheese! I'll give it a try. This mower is in very good shape for its age and when it is working right, it cuts like a champ. I do notice that it seems to load up while emptying the bag (it has a brake clutch).

If it was running right, my only complaint would be that it is rather loud.
