Replace sparkplug wire end?

I've managed to pull out the sparkplug wire connector from the secondary high voltage wire on my SnowKing Tecumseh engine when I replaced the plug. The end of the wire is split back about an eighth of an inch and is in pretty poor shape so there isn't a good way to physically re-attach the wire to the connector. Also the wire is too short to cut of the end for another try. Is there a fix for this, short of buying a new coil pack which comes with a new wire?

thanks,

barry

zoomzoom,

Where there is a well there is a way. I have replaced the plug wire in a few B&S engines. The mice love to eat them too. You won't lose any thing by pulling the old wire out of the coil, cleaning out the old glue and epory in a new wire. On the B&S engine coil there is something that looks like a tack point in the center of the wire socket. It could be the same on a Tecumseh. Be sure the tack point is there and push the new wire over it.
You should be able to put the old spark plug connection back on the other end of the wire.

coil wire

Thanks for the tip on the coil wire. I'll pull the cover and see if the "fix" will work.

thanks,
