Honda Harmony Model HRM215SXA Lawn Mower

Model # HRM215SXA; Serial # GJAB-6677674; 7 year old rotary mower is making a squeaking noise after it has been running for about 1/2 hour or more. It makes the noise whether the self-propel is engaged or not. It also seems to begin to loose power as if it is running out of gas sometimes when it squeaks, but there is plenty of gas in it. Any ideas if it could be a belt wearing or bearings, and how easy it would be to fix? Thank you.

Hello Koalabear!

If the squeaking could easily be interpreted as an airy chirping, then I would suspect a head gasket. If it is actually squealing, then I would look at the belt first to see if it is in good shape and on the pulleys correctly. You might also check the blade clutch...does it squeal with the blade disengaged?
