Tecumseh Lawnmower Engine

I have an old lawnmower engine and had found out that the engine was a Tecumseh. Unfortunately I lost the information on the type of engine and so am looking for information once again.
I have some numbers that are on the starting recoil cover.

The numbers read 143-384382 ser 8008E

If anyone out there can provide any information I would be gateful.

Thanks Claddagh

Cladagh,

Here is a link to parts http://www3.sears.com/

Here is a link to service manual http://www.cpdonline.com/home.htm (scroll down the left hand side and find online service manuals, (692509 , 3-11 horse 4-cycle L-head service manual.)

You can get parts with those part numbers at any tecumseh dealer.

You can get help from anybody here. 'lint.

Thumbs up

Lint is correct.

That engine is a Sears (Tecumseh made, that's what the 143 prefix means) equivalent of a Tecumseh TVS90-42402F.

Sorry guys,

I see the service manual download, from CPD, now has a charge of 10 bucks added too it. Although it is worth the price too have a manual, you can get the paper version from your local dealer for around the same price. (sorry for the bad link)

Perhaps it is still available from another source online, I will try and look around the net too see what I can come up with. 'lint.

I had downloaded it prior to that charge . I also have a hard copy of it as well. Handy book!
