Murray 20 problems

When my mower starts up it only runs for about 30 secs and then dies. It sounds like it is out of gas, but there is gas in it. Also, when I go to prime it it does not sound as though it is getting any juice.

#1 Fresh gas in tank?
#2 Is Fuel line, tank free of debre and clean?
#3 Is the carb free of deposits and is clean?
#4 Are you getting proper spark?

These are the things you need to check. Do these steps while you wait for Cheese reply.

Hello heathernscott!

From the sound of it, you probably have a tecumseh engine on this thing, although you did not say. This is a common problem on these engines. Remove the screw that holds the float bowl on, and clean out the tiny holes in the sides of it. There are two near the head of the screw, and one very tiny one towards the end, and one in the center. Clean these out and you'll probably be ok. If this is not a tecumseh engine, let us know what you have.
