Tecumseh engine cutting out

I have a Weed Eater Riding Lawn Mower (38") that has a Tecumseh, 13 hp engine (model CHV130 206822C,
Engine Family WTPXS.3582AA, DOM 9044D). This engine starts, however, it stops after mowing the grass for 3 to 5 minutes. I've gone to the Tecumseh web site, but it is not very helpful. Any advice?

#1Clean your carberator
#2 make sure your fuel line and gass tank are clean
#3 Test for spark by taking plug off engine and attaching the wire back on the plug and hold it very close(mabie even touch it) to the engine block.

Let us know how it goes...

Hello CeCe!

There are a few possibilities here. First of all, we need to determine if you have an ignition problem, or if you have a fuel problem. When the engine shuts off, check for spark at the spark plug. Let us know what you find. Also, does it crank right back up? Or, do you have to wait awhile first?
