question on piston rings

Im in the middle of rebuilding a briggs and stratton 8hp engine. I need to know what rings to get. Do I get the oversized .010 rings or the standard ones? Also how can I tell if my engine block is cast or aluminum?
Thanks

Only used oversized rings if the cylinder has been bored out .010" oversized. If not, then use the standard rings. If the block is cast it will be attracted to a magnet.
