I'm replacing the oil seals on the Horse model in the tine gearbox.
Is there an easy way to remove the taper roller bearing supporting the end of the worm gear shaft so it can be lifted to allow removal of the worm wheel and shaft assembly?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello jlm!

I haven't been in a horse gearcase in a long time. Seems like you can just use a hook shaped pick to pick it out. I wish I could tell you better, but I can't even remember what it looks like in one of those anymore. Maybe someone else here has some better info for you.

Thanks: I hasd to go thru the gear box with a long thin punch and tap the tapered race back to get the lift I needed. Not the best way but it worked.
Thanks again!
