I have a 2 hp campbell hausfeld compressor when It trys to fill back up to my set tank psi the motor starts then it stops and begins to hum it seems like it locks up. Sometimes It pops a breaker. Any suggestions . Thanks

Sounds like a bad motor, or if the motor is capacitor start, the capacitor could be bad. Does the compressor turn freely? (disconnected from the motor)...if not, that's the problem. If so, check the capacitor.

If your compressor pumps up from 0 psi and shuts off at full pressure and won't start when there is tank pressure check the tank checkvalve. Many compressors won't start if there is pressure on the compressor head.

thanks guys im gonna check that valve out asap, also the motor does turns freely. I will have that capicator checked out though. how bout the pressure switch?
