B&S info

As a dealer, we have no way to know what equipment this engine was used on. Perhaps the factory might, but don't know this either. What I do know is you have a 1976 vintage, 5 horsepower, horizontal crankshaft, pulsa-jet carburetor, plain bearing, auxiliary drive (extended cam), rewind start engine. For the fact that it has an extended camshaft, I would say it was originally installed on a garden tiller.

B&S Engine (16hp on Simplicity 6216)

I need a rebuild kit for the carb and noone seems to know what engine I have. Here is the number stamp on the engine.

402 07 0130 01 82042112

I refered to the B&S website for the style engine and found the location of the number. The guys at the small engine shop couldn't figure out what this number was...

Any help is appreciated...

Puey61 thank you very much for the info.
Now to the members of the forum ; If this motor is off a tiller. Could it fit on an older Ariens snowblower, 2 stage with 20" auger opening. Any major modifications, (ie) mounting holes, belt alignment, turn crank for the chute ,throttle cable, anything???. I WANT TO KEEP BLOWER IN ORIGINAL CONDITION !!!!Got blower without motor so am asking questions!
Thanking everyone in advance for info and answers.

South,

Was this # stamped on a silver tag on top of the engine? If so, look at the headings above the #s. You will see "model" over the first set of #s, "type" over the second, and "code" over the third. This would be all any shop would need for getting your parts.

It was stamped on the front of the engine under a silver sticker. The sticker has engine oil info on it and on the bottom of the sticker it has Model, Type, and Code. The sticker is placed just above the numbers, however, I cant tell where Model ends and Type starts.
