re: off topic carb question

Hello...especially Cheese, Puey and Term

I have just gotten a 1978 Yamaha XS 750 Triple.

A bit over 3,000 miles on her as she was in storage since 1985 but needs a center carb body. Carbs are 34mm Mikunis but appear to be specific for this machine and darn hard to find on the net or here locally. If it gets down to it I can fabricate a new one but would rather pay $75 to $100 and bolt it on and be done.

If any of you know of a bike boneyard that might have a body or full carb I'd be grateful.

TIA,

Snowman53

Hi Snowman53!

I don't know of any bike boneyards around, but I know someone who gets bikes regularly (in the scrap iron business). They are friends of mine, and I can keep an eye out. Not really the best chances that I'll find what you need, but I'll watch for one anyway. Good luck searching!

Try this

Here in my back yard in upstate New York is a boneyard with many used cycles.

re: mikuni carbs

Hi Puey:

Thanks! I tried to call them but it's 5:45 PM now as I just got home, so no answer.

I'll give then a call tomorrow during business hours.

I know I'll find one eventually and can afford to wait but would like to get this thing running--and the carb is all it will take.

Regards,

Snowman53
