TORO 18" STRAIGHT TRIMMER

I am having trouble getting the trimmer line housing to come off so I can restring the trimmer. Its has a red cap that says off with an arrow pointing to one direction. I have tried to turn it but nothing, brand new, I also had the same problem with the gas cap, was on very tight. Not sure if the red cap is on to tight or if I am not doing something right.

Your bump knob tightens the opposite the way that your cutting head turns,to keep it from flying off in med flight.Just get a pair of plairs that fits it hold the head still and turn knob off with plairs.

Ofcorse there is a chance that the inside of knob that holds the screw is striped. In this case, cut knob off and then use a 1/2 inch wench to turn bump knob bolt out.
